I can't help myself!

I get the most awesome cards from friends and fellow stampers from time to time.

Today I opened up my mail - swaps - and found these 2 cards included FOR ME!

This first one is from Ann Wood

 I had to show you a few close-ups - these hats are embossed but they look "knit"

 The snow is specialty paper that has been embossed, then ripped and then "glittered".

 The inside is a like a diorama card with a little peek-a-boo!

 This second card is from Lisa Jahncke - she sent this along with the postage for her swap.  I don't mind when swappers forget stuff especially if they get it in to me on time and a nice card doesn't hurt!

I'm not really sure how Lisa did the background...

it's definately done with an embossing folder but did she sand it or ink it afterwards?

I received this card from Mary Fish (yes THAT Mary Fish) awhile ago but it got buried in the mess on my desk.

Today - when looking for something else - I found it and thought I'd better take a photo of it and post it now.

So here it is! 

I just love how she matched the envelope flap!

RRR & Wedding Invites

I recently helped a bride-to-be with her wedding invitations. Not the making of them - she organized a work party with her friends. I helped with the consultation on how to make them and what materials to use.

She needed 2 different and easy invitations to send out for her wedding here in BC and then another invitation for a celebration with her friends in Alberta.

Both of these are "post card" type inviations - that is just one layer like a card front!

This first one is a very simple one using white on white on white. White Bazzills Bling base with a White layer and White organdy ribbon.

This next one is the actual invitation. It's a vellum layer on white cardstock on a black base.

The SU! image from Lovely as a Tree is stamped in gray on the white bottom layer.

She was so sweet about it and sent me these samples in the mail. My kids were really disappointed when they found out that these were only samples - they thought we were invited to her wedding!

They have NEVER been to a wedding and are so keen to go to one. Unfortunately, we don't know anyone that is getting married. All of our friends are old so we'll just have to wait for the next generation of weddings to happen - MAYBE in another 6 years or so we'll have a bunch of weddings to go to!

This little 3x3 was sent to me by Ilse Vargas for hosting the CASED with LOVE swap. Speaking of which I'll post some more "Sneak Peeks" for that swap later!

RRR - Recent RAKS Received

I'm running another swap - CASED WITH LOVE - for Stampin' Up! Demos. The photos will be posted at the end of June when the swap ends.

Anyway one swapper sent me a lovely RAK and a card that she made for my Sympathy swap that didn't arrive.

Recent RAKS Received

I received this BEAUTIFUL card in the mail the other day from Carla at Moralia's Weblog.

Not only did she send me the card but she also tucked in some Bella images to colour!

Carla recently won the drawing for a Card Sketch Challenge and got some COPICS in the mail from me. She knows I have my own COPICS and I LOVE to colour!

Check out the flower details on her card. Where did you get those awesome brads Carla???
