Diane's Sunday Sketch Challenge Card

This afternoon while my hubby watched golf on TV and the kids watched a movie I was able to complete my card for Diane's Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Diane's great at coming up with a sketch that is not intimidating and also giving you the colours for your challenge.

I love this!

When I read the criteria for today's challenge I knew exactly which stamp set I had to use.

The challenge was to use her sketch and a retiring Stampin' Up! stamp set (no other stamps) and the following colours: Rose Red, Almost Amethyst, So Saffron and Certainly Celery. You are allowed to use 2 neutrals as well and I used Black and White.

What does that colour combination say to you?

To me it screams MIXED BOUQUET!!!

Now I have to warn you that my card is totally OUTSIDE my comfort zone. I'm a neat, simple and clean card maker but I went a little crazy with this one.

What do you think?

You may not see this in the photo but I did use Crystal Effects on the matted image piece. I used it on the berries, on the centre of the poppy flower and to outline the rose. It just makes it stand out from the card base images.

I also used that centre dot stamp to stamp black dots across the So Saffron strip.

  2. Woo Hoo , Marie! I'm so happy you enjoyed the sketch! Your card is wonderful -- exactly what I had in mind when I said the beauty of the images speaks for itself, even without the sentiment. I love the crystal effects on the matted image and the stamped so saffr4on strip! Very inventive! Great job!
