Cornish Heritage Farms Free Digi

I got THIS free digi the other day from Cornish Heritage Farms.

I had a little time to myself tonight so I coloured it up with my copics.

Here are some other views - the lights and the camera take away from the intensity of the colours. It's actually much brighter IRL (in real life).

Free Digi Challenge

Have you seen the latest Freebie Digi on the Marker Guru's blog?

I've just downloaded it and can't wait to colour it in.

If you'd like to join me in a quick colouring challenge just grab the digi, colour it up and then post a link in the comments for the original blog post at Marker Guru!

Don't forget to give Marker Guru the credit for the image!

If you're not yet sick of Halloween you might want to check out the Gurukitty Halloween digi pack.

It's awesome for colouring!

Princess Oceana Completed

Here she is completely coloured!

  This is the back -
I was just using regular printer/copy paper to colour her in.
It can be done but you need to be quick and have a light touch.

In this close up you can almost see the sparkle from the Spica Clear pen I used on her hair shells.

More Copic Colouring!

I just got some new digis from Michelle Perkett.
I test coloured this one called Princess Oceana straight off the printer - on COPY PAPER!

Looks pretty good if I say so myself!

Doily Cards

A Doily is by definition an ornamental mat used to protect fine wood furniture from scratches but with it's openwork it allows the wood to show through.  It was first made by a 17th century London draper named Doiley.

The originals were hand made crocheted works of art but today you can get pretty much get any size or colour Doily you like made of paper.

I've been seeing a lot of great cards using the paper Doily and thought I'd give it a try.

I picked mine up at the local Wal-Mart and paid $1.97 (CAD) for a package of 30 4 inch circles.

I saw a card layout that inspired me done by Maile Belles and made up a couple of samples.  Click HERE to see her card.

I thought I'd like the white on white effect of the Doily with the cardbase but now I'm rethinking that and next time I'll use a fun patterned paper as a background for the Doily

Here are some close-ups for you!

This strip of paper flags is actually a digital image from Jessica Sprague that I snipped along the bottom for a more 3D effect.

What do you think?
Does this make you want to paper craft with Doilies?

If you'd like to see more Doily inspiration I sugges that you Google "doily cards" and you'll see TONS!

Thanks for popping in today and keep checking for that Blog Candy post - it's coming but I keep getting sidetracked....

Saturday & Sunday Shop - New Digi Images from Lori Boyd!

I just bought some new digi images from Lori Boyd and I had to use them right away!

First I coloured up a batch (using COPICS) and then made them into cards!

I made the card bases first and then coloured the images to match!

Check this out:

This card is 5x5

I used a 5 x 3 1/2 base and then used a piece of double sided patterned paper.

This is what it looks like from the side.  Kind of a "tent" card but not!

A close up of the colouring.

Check out these perfect bows!

Yep!  Used my bow fingers!
Made this one with black to give it a baby "goth" look!

I really like this new lace trim from Stampin' Up!

Thanks for popping in!

COPIC Colouring Therapy

On Friday night I packed up my COPICs and digi images and went to Scrap Arts for the staff Crop Night.

It was a lot of fun and although I only coloured 2 images in 3 hours I found it very relaxing and therapeutic!

Both of these images are from Mo's Digital Pencil (Mo Manning) and eventually I'll turn them into cards but for now they'll remain on the sheet of Neenah paper I printed them out on.

Here they are raw - I'll share them again when I add the finishing touches and turn them into cards:

I need to add some Diamond glaze to this one!

I need to add some glitter to this one!

If you're wondering how I got ALL of my sketch COPICs to the crop I simply took the display case I keep them in (see THIS POST) and slid it into my TNA tote bag.  It's the pefect fit!

Organizing my Digital Stuff

Yes I'm still undergoing a flooring reno!  We are now into week 3.

There is furniture and boxes piled up everywhere and I have very limited living space.

Next week I'm told it will ALL be done! We'll see...
In the meantime I've been trying to do a little tidy up (as much as I can) and a little organizing in my craft room (where I've been hiding out).

Today I thought I would share with you how I store my digital images and paper.

It's nothing fancy really - the key is to start and then as you add to your collections keep updating.  I wish I had done that with my stamps!

Anyway I got myself a big binder (from the office supply store) and filled it up with page protectors, tab dividers and pocket dividers.

On my computer I have set up a file folder called Digital Downloads. In that file I have another folder called Digital Images where I keep my images and Digital Paper where I keep all of my digital paper.  As they download they create their own file folders by collection name.

For digital images/stamps - I print all my digital images using a "contact sheet" format and put them in a plastic page protector.  The nice thing about the contact sheet format is that it prints the image title below.

At a glance I can see what I have and then look for it in the file that I have created for digital images on my computer.

For my digital paper - I have my binder organized by THEME and then COMPANY within each theme.
I print off the cover image for each collection and then a sampler of each of the papers.  Sometimes I'll use the 3 x4 format or the contact sheet format - depending on how many pages are in the collection.
If I print off some of the papers and I have leftover scraps I'll put them in the pocket dividers.
Well that's how I do it.  If you have any tips or suggestions to offer please leave me a comment.
