Layin' Rubber Ink Design Clique #24

For this week's Design Clique we are using this Rose stamp from Local King Rubber Stamps.

Here is Tara's (I love how she used the scrap "frame" part from the Top Note Die!):
Here's mine:

The paper is vanilla for the card base and the gray polka dots are from a retired Charbon Designer Paper Series package.

I used the vanilla again for the Sizzix Top Note die cut (all from Stampin' Up!)

This greeting is from Stampin' Up! Fourteen Phrases - I love this set!
Here are some close-ups of the rose colouring:

COPICS Used: R24, R29, R30, R59 as well as T0 & T3 (for the rose), G40, G82, G85, G99 (for the leaves)

They are awesome and I just had to have a few of these sets to add to my stamp collection!

I popped in to visit with Lisa toady and we played with some Nestabilities in her Cuttlebug and I got to see her samples for her upcoming shows and classes.

It was hard to pick out just a few but in the end I bought:

Colour Inspiration #36

This week's colour challenge from Kristina Werner was one I just had to jump in on!

I have a favourite "go-to" card that I make all the time using these colours
(although my sparkle paper is lighter than the olive colour she's suggesting).
I make this card for Birthday's and Thank You's since I bought tons of this paper and have lots of the styled silver frames & the matching punch (from Stampin' Up!).
Here it is:
The tree stamp is Four Seasons from Local King (the greeting is from Stampin' Up!).

Local King Card Club

Today was the second Sunday of the month and for me that means Local King Card Club with Lisa (the designer & owner)!!

These are the cards I made.

This is one of those stand up box cards - sorry I don't remember what they're called!

It does fold up flat so that you can fit it in a regular envelope and mail it.

Here's a close up of my snowman -

Lisa loves these little gems and I think we've had one on at least one card we've done at every club get together!

Lisa showed us how to make these little spiders with pipe cleaners (they're from Walmart).
The background is one of her new ones - isn't it cool?

I like the eye in the "or"!
Here's a close up of my spider - I think his eyes are bit funny!

For this card we used the Martha Stewart border punch that embosses.
Lisa shows us how to colour in the stamps with different colours of markers

but mine just turned out "purple"

Local King Sunday Morning Card Club

I've signed up for all kinds of summer cardmaking/scrapbooking classes during my "hiatus" from teaching my own classes. I'm trying to get out of my "rut", stimulate my creativity and fire up that "mojo" of mine!

These are the cards I made at the Sunday Morning Local King Card Club Class.
Stamping with markers on glossy paper and adding paper piecing.

Giraffe Double Slider card.

Watercolouring and stamping with White Stazon on Acetate!
It's a pleasant surprise every time I attend one of Lisa's classes. I never know what we'll be doing but that's ok since she supplies EVERYTHING needed.

Not only does she give us some nice samples to copy but she DEMOS EVERY CARD before we start. I love her "cooking show" routine where she is making a card and then reaches down and pulls out a finished piece - ta da!

I was in the Tuesday morning club but it disbanded and Lisa kindly invited me to continue with the Sunday Morning Ladies!!

What a nice bunch of ladies and so much fun! I can't wait to see what we'll do next month...

Another Local King Card

Here's another card that I made with Local King stamps -
this one's called Four Seasons

I love this sparkly paper and I just had to take another photo so you can see how glittery it is.

I used the Stylized Hodgepodge (available for a limited time only from Stampin' Up!) and the matching punch for the greeting.

I also used my Stardust glitter pen from Sakura to add some sparkly dots to the blossoms!

Thanks for dropping by!
