Sweet Blog CANDY!!!!

I haven't done Blog Candy is so long I think this is way overdue!

To celebrate all of my recent blog subscribers and to thank all my blog visitors I'd like to offer up this delicious bit of SWEET BLOG CANDY!

This is a clear stamp set from Hampton Art called Cupcakes.

There are 12 individual stamps in this set. It's what they call a foot-long but these are separate stamps.  The cupcakes are about 1 inch square and the words "make a wish" and "cupcake" are about 2 1/2 inches long.

I have to say that I really like the quality of the Hampton Art clear stamps.  It takes ink very well and gives a nice crisp image.

Here are a couple of cards (Marie originals) that I made with this set:

Please note: the BLOG CANDY stamp set is unused but I did buy one for myself and used it to make this sample card.

All you have to do to be entered into this BLOG CANDY draw is just leave me a comment (on this post only) telling me what you like to see when you visit a blog.

For example: I'm mostly a card maker so I like to see lots of photos of cards.  I get a lot of inspiration and ideas from visiting other peoples blogs and seeing what they are working on.

Sorry but this draw is open to all of my blog visitors in Canada and the USA only!

I will draw names from all the comments by Sunday May 1st and post the winner!

ps.  the round stamp "So Sweet" shown in the second card photo is from my new Autumn Leaves set and not included in the blog candy stamp set.

Until next time!

New Loot!

Yesterday I was in Scrap Arts -  my favourite LSS (Local Scrapbooking Store) - and I picked up all of these goodies!

The embossing folders are new from Craft Concepts.  It's an Australian company and they make limited run embossing folders.

I tried them out this morning and they emboss beautifully.  Nice deep and clean embossing!

The stamps are from Autumn Leaves.

Shelley's got a good selection of both right now but they won't last long!

If you're on the North Shore and in the area you should check it out!

Scrap Arts is located at 175 East 3rd St in North Vancouver or call the store today for your scrapbooking needs 604-880-8811.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Why don't you check back with me tomorrow and see what I'm up to?  I've got a surprise coming up.....

Ok so I'm not very good at keeping secrets - I'll just tell you that I've got some BLOG CANDY coming up!!

Blog Candy Time!!

I haven't done any Blog Candy for a while and I thought I would since I have a couple of "extra" items that could use a new home! Yes - shopping without my book again!!

So over the next little while I'll be doing Blog Candy giveaways - no schedule, no plan, no warnings - you'll just have to pop in or subscribe to find out about them.

Many people may ask - What is Blog Candy and why do Bloggers do it?

Blog Candy can be anything that anyone wants to give away.
Some bloggers do this to boost their hits, increase their memberships etc... I don't really see the benefit of that (it's not like I get paid per hit or anything and it's an inflated amount of visitors so not very helpful for traffic monitoring) but I like to do it to reward or "treat" my blog readers who check in with me regularly even though I've not been posting much lately!

So enough chit-chat and on to the CANDY!!!

Here's what's up for grabs:

This is one of the new Cuttlebug embossing folders called Floral Screen.

This giveaway is open to EVERYONE.

Please leave a comment to be entered in my Blog Candy giveaway and tell me where you're from (City, Country you live in now) and also what else besides papercrafts stuff you collect.
The winner will be drawn by random on Sunday, Sept 14th and posted on Monday morning.
Me....I have a bit of a PURSE problem!
I can't help myself...I think that I inherited this from my mom. She used to have matching purses and shoes and sometimes hats in every colour!

While back to school shopping I bought myself 3 new purses -

a Rust one

a RED one

and a HUGE Black Patent Tote!

I know those of you who know me will be scratching their heads and going - What?

Because I usually carry the same black purse around and very rarely change it.

I told you it was a problem....

ps. the purses are not part of the Blog Candy giveaway...

What's New?

Sorry I've been busy this week running the kids around to their various camps but I've got a couple of projects on the go as well as some shopping!

Today I picked up another towel bar from IKEA to put up some more punches and I found the coolest shoe holder at Home Sense to store my growing collection of COPIC marker.

The neat thing is I can roll this up and take them with me if I need to!

Tomorrow UPS is scheduled to deliver my FIRST Stampin' Up! Fall/Winter Catalogue order and then the fun begins!

Please check back next week....

I'll be working on swaps (New Catalogue New Stamps, Christmas cards, Christmas tags) and class samples for 2 upcoming Christmas classes!

Also, I may have some blog candy to offer up. Yes I've been shopping without my book again and ended up with duplicates!

Card Challenge #9

Did you notice I left out the word "sketch"?

That's because this is a "challenge" without a sketch.

Every once in a while I'm going to challenge you to use some of your stash to make a card.

For this next challenge (#9 for those of you are counting) I'm going to challenge you to make a card with enamelling or cracked glass on it. You may use clear embossing powder, UTEE or even Crystal Effects (aka Diamond Glaze) to give you that Enamelled look. Take it one step further and crack it for the Cracked Glass look.

In order to enter the drawing for the prize you must submit a card that has a piece that has been enamelled or cracked.

Here's a Triangle Trifold card that I made for a TV segment and I used the Cracked Glass technique. To learn how to make a Triangle Trifold card click HERE for the Splitcoaststampers tutorial.

One of my last posts also used an Enamelled piece. Click HERE to see it again.

Each card uploaded or linked to this post receives an entry in the prize drawing. The prize drawing will take place Friday, November 30 so get your cards in by NOON on that day to be included in the draw.
What's the prize?
How about some Thickers (Prancer in RED Chipboard), Rhinestones (Red, Clear and Green perfect for Christmas!) and the NEW Basic Grey 6x6 FIGGY Paper pack!!!!

Yes - you read it right - and here is a photo just to prove it!

What do you think? Are you up for the challenge?

Well then get ENAMELLING!!!

Card Sketch Challenge #8

Lots of excuses why this is so late but rather than list them here I'm just going to say - Sorry - and post it now.

Here is my Blog Card Sketch Challenge #8:

I know it looks really easy and it is. You just need to make a card that features a tree as it's main focal piece.

The tree may be stamped, paper pieced or cut out of your card. Just 2 layers for the base is all that's required (solid or patterned paper - your choice) and you may embellish at will!

But wait - there's a catch! You can't just slap together 2 pieces of paper and add a tree - what would be the fun in that?

You will get an extra entry for each embellishment you add to your card. For example, if you add ribbon, sewing and bling to your card that's a total of 4 entries! The more entries you have the better chance you have at the prize! You get the idea?

Please add the link for your card to this post by NOON on Friday, November 16th. I'll draw a name from the entries by that night and post the winner.

The prize is this package to get you started on your tag making for the Holidays.

Included is a package of IKEA tags (36 tags in 3 sizes and 3 colours), 2 packages of American Traditional Designs Snowflake Rubons and 4 yards of fun fibres to "fancy up" your tags.

I'll post my card tomorrow!

Card Sketch Challenge #7

Have you come to my blog today to check out the new card sketch challenge and prize?

Well if so, I won't keep you waiting!

Here is the sketch:

It's pretty easy but I'm adding an additional challenge of using a piece of chipboard on it. It can be any size or shape you like of chipboard (I added the rectangle text box to remind you to use chipboard on your card but it does NOT have to be a rectangle!).

ETA: If you'd like to enter any chipboard card or project you may still enter the drawing. Those that enter with the card sketch will receive an extra entry for the prize drawing.

As usual, you have 2 weeks to complete this challenge - just post a link to your card in the comments for THIS POST before NOON on Friday, November 2nd. At that time I will randomly select a winner for a prize.

What prize?

Well, I've been talking a LOT about the Flip Albums lately (living and breathing Flip Albums for the last week or so!) and I have an extra kit to give away!

Yes that's right - a Flip Album kit!!!

The kit includes all the paper pieces cut up and ready to assemble as well as instructions on how to put it together (now that's helpful!). I'll even through in a few embellishments and co-ordinating ribbon to close your album!

The paper is Basic Grey patterned paper and Bazzills solid cardstock (yes only the good stuff for my blog readers!) and the kit will be one of the combinations that I showed you here on this POST.

As an added BONUS - if you make your project is Christmas or Winter themed then you will receive an extra entry in the prize drawing!

I'll work on my card tomorrow and will post it along with a photo of the actual Flip Album prize by Friday night.

RECAP: If you follow the sketch and use chipboard you get 2 draw prize entries and if you make the card Holiday or Winter themed then you get 3 entries. No chipboard? No problem! Just use the card sketch and I'll enter your name in the drawing. Just got a neat chipboard card or project - send it in too. You'll get entered into the drawing too!

Now go get stamping, punching or whatever you want to do to your card & chipboard and post it here by the deadline!

I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Taking a break....

I don't know where this week has gone! I was hoping to get another challenge put together but my time have been spent prepping for upcoming classes. I haven't even stamped this week - well except for the quickie embossing MNT I did (I'll post that later).

As I said class prep - not the creative stuff - has been my focus this week. I'm so bogged down with cutting paper for this Sunday's Flip Album class (which I'm now calling the "flipping" album!). There are so many pieces to cut out of these 9 12x12 sheets of paper that I'm having to number each one by page and use baggies! Wish me luck with this class - I'm going to need it!

I started cutting the paper on Wednesday and got 8 sets done. Yay me! Only 4 more to go but I've got to get them done by tonight because my daughter is in a Volleyball tournament all weekend about 1 hour away and I can't cut paper in a gym!!!

So what I'm trying to say is that I'm taking a break this week with the challenges and don't have one for you today!

However, I'm hoping to come up with a VERY CHALLENGING card sketch Challenge for next week and an AWESOME prize.

I want to thank to everyone who plays along and shares their fantastic creations with me. I get a lot of inspiration from your cards!

So come back next Friday for another challenge or you can use this time to read through my old blog postings or catch up on your other blog visiting!

Are you ready for Challenge #6 CANDY?

I've been digging through my loot and I found all kinds of stuff but it's just like what I've offered before so...........

I've decided to give away a couple of COPICS for Card Sketch Challenge #6!

Yes you read it right! Free COPICS!!!

Somehow I ended up with an extra Red and Green COPIC - I don't know how that happened??
Shopping without my list maybe!!!

The colours are YG95 Pale Olive and R46 Strong Red. The nice thing about these two is that the green can be used to add shading to the red!

Not only are they "in season" for Christmas images like this poinsietta stamp but perfect for other images - I'm thinking strawberries, roses etc...

Here's my card for Card Sketch Challenge #6 coloured in with these COPICS (well not these exact ones but my doubles!).

This is a side view so you can see that it really is a ONE LAYER card!

So get your ONE LAYER card done and post a link to it on the Challenge #6 post!
