Heat Embossing MNT

This is my sample from last Thursday's MNT (Make & Take) at the scrapbooking store where I work.

It was a simple Heat Embossed tag (ATC sized with rounded corners). Just a scrap of Olive coloured Bazzills paper with a vanilla layer.

For the embossing powder I used the Tim Holtz DISTRESS Embossing Powder in Old Linen and also the DISTRESS Ink in Peeled Paint on the vanilla piece.

The background stamp is an old one from Stampin' Up! called Linograph and the "Thanks so much" is from Sincere Salutations.

Here's a close-up shot of the tag - I've never worked with this embossing powder before but I was surprised at how "rough" it was and also "sparkly". There seems to be sand and glitter particles in it - feels like sand paper to the touch!

In keeping with the rugged/distressed look I added a hemp cord (I buy it in bulk) to it!

  2. Looks great! Love that it could be used for a masculine tag! :)
