Shadow Stamping MNT

This week's Make and Take features Shadow Stamping.

Now at first I was going to do some stamping with the stand of trees from Stampin' Up!s Lovely as a Tree set but then realized that's not really shadow stamping but more like - generation stamping!

Then I thought about doing the stamp once and then stamp again with versamark to make a shadow but then I realized I can't really do that in a MNT. Too much stamp cleaning and I know that the dark ink would end up in the versamark pad!

So I decided to go back to my beginning in stamping and do a traditional Shadow Stamping technique. This is where you take a light coloured ink and stamp a shape or pattern in the background and then stamp an image in darker ink on top.

For this project I chose this "tile" stamp from Hero Arts (it's an old one not sure if they still carry it). I inked the stamp with Hero Arts Shadow ink in Gray and then stamped the CORRECTION: not Tim Holtz but Stampendous Agapanthus stamp in Basic Gray on this dark gray coloured Bazzills 3 x3 card.

I added some silver gray organdy ribbon and it's done!
