I don't know where the day has gone - I've been puttering around the house but not getting anything done.
Today I had big plans to do a technique and post the results on my blog.
Well I got the technique part done but I didn't finish the project - oh well!
I thought I'd try a technique that I have never done before.
Coloured Crystal Effects
This is a sample I received from a recent Technique Swap (this one was done by Jacynthe Gauthier).
Isn't it pretty!
Basically it's painting with a gloss medium that has some ink added to it.
Any kind of glossy medium will work for this whether it's Stampin' Up! Crystal Effects, Judikins Diamond Glaze, or Sakura Crystal Lacquer - just to name a few.
Here's what you need:
- a stamped image
- gloss medium
- reinkers or dye ink
- a pallette (I'm using a margarine lid)
- a paint brush
- paper towel (just in case)
Squirt out some gloss medium onto the pallette, add a few drops of reinker/dye ink, mix with your brush and then paint it on the image.
Voila!
Now I need to leave this to dry (overnight) and then I'll use it as a focal piece for a card
(which I'll here post later).
This technique is definitely a WOW... I used Elements of Style when I did it for my Technique Class. I'm looking forward to seeing your card!
ReplyDeleteOoooooh, I'm so in love with this I just might give it a try. Thanks so much for sharing, Marie. That pear looks yummy enough to eat!!!
