Chipboard Coasters Anyone?

You might remember a while back that I received a HUGE order of coasters. Well some of that was for me, some for another demo and the rest went to the LSS where I teach classes.

Have you heard about these coasters? Seriously you can make all kinds of things with these little pieces of pressed paper. Yes I'm talking about the beer mats, pressed paper coasters, the kind you get at the pub.

Here are a few of the projects that I've made with them.

The first is a folding frame that features my dog - Sam. I just covered the coaster with patterned paper and added a hodgepodge frame and some ribbon to make a binding.

The second project is a flip desk top calendar. Again covered in patterned paper.

The nice thing about these coasters is that they are white and take paint & ink very nicely so you can do a combination of paper, paint and ink to decorate them.

If you're looking to try out a few then call ScrapArts in North Vancouver, 604-980-8811. The coasters are 25 cents each and they have the 4x4 square and the 4 inch round pieces. The great thing is you don't have to be local - the ladies are doing mail order!

Just tell them Marie sent you...
