New Cards!

It was a false alarm on the "I'm getting sicker...". I'm feeling much better today and don't know what happened yesterday. I really felt like I was getting sicker and the only thing I can think of that might have affected me that way was that I didn't get my regular Latte in the morning. Can caffeine withdrawals make you feel sick?

Oh, well I'm much better today and I have a couple of cards to share. Not done my swap card yet - maybe later but I've got class samples to share with you.

Tonight I'm doing a heat embossing class at the scrapbook store. I want it to be a different class since most people have tried regular heat embossing. I want to take it to the next step. So I'm doing a glitter card - embossing patterned paper with Irredescent Ice embossing powder, embossing on vellum, and emboss resist with a mask.

I posted the first two cards I'm doing earlier - the boy and girl birthday cards. These are the two Thank You cards.

The first one is a CASE (remember I told you abou that?). It's a copy of a card that another demo created and shared - thanks so much to Dale Ann Potter for sharing her beautiful, one layer, embossed resist & masked card. Dale Ann's card is purplier (is that a word?) than mine - I used Almost Amethyst, Pale Plum and Bashful Blue. I made a mask by punching out a 3 inch square out of a scrap piece of paper. With the mask in place I used versamark and stamped the Daisy from SU! The mask is very easy to hold in place so I didn't bother with removeable adhesive. I then heat embossed with clear embossing powder (remove the mask!). The next step is to use the mask again and sponge on colour. The final step is to use a marker (2 in this case) and using a ruler or by free hand make a border around the image. Stamp a greeting of your choice or leave it blank and stamp the greeting later for when you need a specific card. The greeting I used is from SU! and it's called Sincere Salutations(I got it FREE from SU! Christmas of 2005). I used a ruler to make my border but you can free hand for a more hand made look. It's a very easy WOW card!

The next card is a variation of some cards that I've seen passed around. I used my GIGA scalloped circle punch and punched out a patterned paper mat (BASIC GREY paper). I then used my MEGA 2 1/2 circle punch and punched out a piece of white paper to stamp on. With black ink I stamped some pretty flowers (from SU! Simply Said) and coloured in with markers. I then heat embossed with gold the butterfly from Winged Things on vellum. I coloured in the BACK with markers (ruby red, positively pink, old olive and bashful blue) and mounted it 3 D like on the circles. The greeting is from the SU! Hostess set Warmest Regards.

I hope the ladies like the cards. What do you think?
