Beate's Card Challenge #5

Here is the card I came up with for Beate's Challenge.

I used this site to help me choose my colour combo - http://www.scraptitude.com/colorcombo/

I knew I wanted to use my new Stampendous Fresh Bloom stamp and my scalloped punch. I thought the flower looked like a giant poppy so I wanted to use ORANGE - more specifically Pumpkin Pie and Black.

The site gave me Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black and Cool Carribean.

The Cool Carribean was a nice surprise and it gave me one more opportunity to use this In-Colour cardstock that is retiring.

I used the GIGA scalloped circle punch for the black layer and heat embossed in black the flower and then cut it out.

I used Filligree (a retired SU! background stamp) with Cool Carribean ink for the background.

ETA: I forgot to tell you that I used the Pumpkin Pie marker to shade in the flower and also used Ruby Red for the centre.

I added Black Organdy ribbon because I thought the card needed something more.

I didn't stick to the sketch - exactly - I did not add layers for the base card and I did not add a salutation.

I think it turned out very nice. What do you think?

Here's the link if you want to try it for yourself:
