Here is my second card for this swap.
I made this one a vellum overlay card. I've been wanting to make one these for a long time. I've seen this used before with the Seaside Sketches stamp set but since I don't have that set I thought I'd use Along the Shore (Stampin' Up! retired). The empty chair image reminded me of someone missing and so I made it into a sympathy card and found an appropriate greeting from Warmest Regards.
I used a Creamy Caramel card base, added a layer of Bashful Blue and then added a torn strip of both Creamy Caramel and Brocade Blue. I made clouds with Bashful Blue ink sponged over a cloud template (from Stampin' Up!).
The chair image and greeting were both stamped with Black Stazon directly on the vellum cardstock. I coloured the image in with Ruby Red, Old Olive and Creamy Caramel markers FROM THE BACK. I attached the vellum to the white layer with black brads.
I think it turned out ok. What do you think?
This is Beautiful! The coloring is lovely. Love that chicken card below too.
ReplyDeleteI've been a reader of your Blog for awhile but haven't commented (Sorry, will try to do this more. :) ) I just had to say WOW! about this card. It is AMAZING! I love it. I just had to let you know! It always feels good when you do something really great and people have to comment you on it. :) Great job!
ReplyDeleteI think it's really, really wonderful! I need to try this technique!
ReplyDeleteI think this is so great! I'll have to try the vellum technique. I have an 60th wedding anniversary card to make and this would be super! THanks!

I think this is an absolutely beautiful card. The empty chair made my heart hurt, so you're use of it had the appropriate effect. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card and a genius idea. That is so clever. I will have to try something like this.
