FLIP OUT Class Sample

Boy oh Boy! This Flip Album sure was a challenge for me!

I found the instructions for the Flip Album on SCS (Splitcoaststampers) with some great photos. However, I'm a bit anal and really NEEDED to have more info before I started mine. I like to have cutting directions - pieces all mapped out on the 12x12 - so I don't waste paper.
I also want to offer this as a class and need to cost this out and decide whether to put together kits or have the customers cut the paper themselves. After doing this I'm steering towards kits!
But before I started cutting I sat down with the insructions and mapped out all the pieces by colour. It took me hours -with a few breaks and interruptions!

I used 3 solid colours of cardstock (Bazzills Sagura, Dark Olive, and Rhubarb) and 2 patterns (Basic Grey Eggnog from the DASHER line and Yuletide/Wintermint from the Fruitcake line).
In total this project used up 7 (yes SEVEN) full sheets of 12x12 paper and there are hardly any scraps! I had to change it up a bit and skip a few things because I couldn't bring myself to cut into additional sheets of patterned paper for the flaps.

I also, didn't add any embellishments to mine (other than some ribbon) because I was worried about the thickness. I'll see how thick it is after I add some photos and see what more I can add to it in the way of brads, tags and other things.

I'm going to look for some photos on my computer to put in the album - the colours lend themselves to a wine trip (unfortunately I have no photos from our last wine trip 15 years ago!), or maybe a family album (I'll have to did up some old black and whites or something similiar).
I'll post the completed album later.

  2. Marie, Sherida cut everything for us, it was all packaged and she included the instructions WITH photographs of each section. The instructions are 6 pages. Sherida put so much work into creating directions that we could use at a class that I didn't want to just post them for all to see. I'm glad you were able to figure it out. It's gorgeous!
If you are offering this class to other demos, charge 35.00. If it's for customers, charge 40.00. As you know, there is SO much involved!
Sherida is a fellow INKcredible Canadian..perhaps you could contact her and find out out she wrote the instructions.
