BURNISHED VELVET - A NEW Technique for me!

Recently I had the opportunity to meet Deanna Pannell. She came into to the store where I work to show us how to do the Burnished Velvet Technique. She created the technique along with her partner Haroldine Wingfield.

If you live in this area of BC you may already know Haroldine. She has an amazing little shop called Be Creative and is the distributor of Terrific Tape. Sadly I have never been to her store but plan to go soon.

Deanna is the distributor for Glitter Ritz a micro fine glitter. The neat thing about using this glitter in this technique is that the surface feels "flocked" and smooth and not all bumpy and "sandpapery" like most glittered surfaces.

I've been playing around a bit with it and have come up with the following sample sheet to share with you. Later on I can cut these strips and add them to a card - but for right now I'm still playing!

Here are some close ups!

It's very addictive as this photo will prove. Here is a photo of my GROWING Micro Glitter Collection.

I store mine in one of my craft caddy drawers.
I've labelled both the bottom and the top of each jar and keep them upside down so I can see all the pretty colours!
If you'd like to learn more about the Burnished Velvet Technique and see the AWESOME TUTORIAL click HERE . It was recently featured by Diana Crick (creator of the Scor-Pal http://www.scor-pal.com/) and published in her Oct/Nov Scor Pal online magazine.
