I started in the late summer....
BUT they've all been for classes, card parties and for clients. I have yet to make my own Christmas cards to send out!!!
Have you got all of yours done? If so, how many did you make?
These are some photos of a card I just finished for a corporate client. Every year they get their logo printed on blank cards and I jazz them up for them. One year it was a lilac colour and I stamped snowflakes in white pearl embossing powder. The next year it was a pearlized embossed logo and I stamped snowflakes in silver and blue. This year it's green so there goes the snowflake theme!!
I decided to use Lovely as a Tree and Always Artichoke and Certainly Celery ink from Stampin' Ink! It think it's a pretty good match! I used a Reverse Mask technique and then overstamped the tree image again over the masking.
Check out this glitter! I found a CHEAP source for glitter at a Candle Making supply wholesaler www.wicksandwax.com This is clear glitter and a big bag (.10kg) of it was only $4.63 - that's like almost 4 oz!! I just outline the tree branches with a Zig glue pen and then sprinkle it on.
Now it's not the fine stuff like Dazzling Diamonds but I'm finding that a little "pink" these days - that's because it's an opalescent glitter. If you like the look of that they have that there too for $299.99 a kg or in 10 g bags for 2.99!
Before you go saying how clever that Marie is etc... I want to fess up and tell you that this was not my original idea. I got the idea & inspiration from seeing lots of samples on blogs and Splitcoaststampers. I was also inspired by this card I received in a recent swap - creator unknown :(
Now get off the computer and finish your cards! That's what I'm going to do... but I have just one more post before I go...
That card is so stunning Marie! I love the big tree and glitter. Total WOW!
