COPICS???

I get asked all the time how I like my COPICS and where I get them from.

I really LOVE them and just wish I had more time to play with them!

I thought that I would post some COPIC info just in case others wanted to hear more about them.

I bought most of my COPICS from a small family owned art supply store called Petrov's here in BC Canada.

Today I asked them about Mail Order. I know some of us Canadians are having a hard time finding these locally OR having to purchase them from the US and getting dinged with excessive shipping charges, and then taxes and duty to get them across the border.

If you can't find a local retailer or someone else in Canada to order them from here are the details from my supplier:

The retail store is called Petrov's Art & Craft Suppy, located in North Vancouver, BC. Their phone number is 604-985-1545. They are usually open by 9:30 am PST during the week.

They will only charge you the actual cost of the markers & shipping.

The COPIC Sketch Markers are 8.25 CAD each BUT they have them discounted for 25% off. You just need to mention that you want the sale price.

Tell them that I referred you - "Marie from ScrapArts".

Be sure when you order that you specify which marker you want - Sketch or Ciao (not sure on the price of the Ciao since I "collect" the Sketch markers only).

Don't know what colours to order?

There are so many colours to choose from! You can see them all HERE.

I personally found this SU! comparison list from Ellen Hutson to be very helpful when I first started out.

I also like to "blurf" (surf the blogs) looking for COPIC coloured images. I just LOVE it when the blogger includes the actual COPIC colour list.

Here's an example of what I mean from Debbie Olsen

If I like the colours and they'll work with what I already have I jot these colours down in my notebook and then prioritize them for a later purchase.

Which ink do you use to stamp your image to be coloured?

I personally use my Black Stazon and it works well for me. However, these
markers are alcohol based and sometimes cause the stamped image to bleed when using other inks.

Here's another link from Ellen where she compares which ink works best with COPICS.

Storage:

I've got over 100 COPICS now and I like to keep them out so I'll use them whenever the colouring whim strikes me. I keep my COPICS in a Pen Caddy from Crop n Style. Click HERE for a photo of this Pen Caddy.

Unfortunately this case only holds 75 markers but I'm considering ordering another one from scrappingreatdeals and then attaching the velcro pieces so that I will have a six sided storage unit. I'll have to think more about that...

I hope that you find this information usefull. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
