Purses! Purses! and more Purses!

Tomorrow night I'm going out to my first Designer Dinner for all the instructors who teach classes at the Scrap Arts store!

I'm so excited for 2 reasons 1. we're going to the new Moustache Cafe and I haven't been there yet and 2. I finally get to meet some of the new Designers.

I really wanted to make a little "something" for the other gals and I came across the cutest little clutch purses made by Brenda Quintana over on the Scor-Pal website.

So I got out my Bella Rose paper from Stampin' Up! and whipped up 10 of these!

I know they don't look like much from this vantage point so I've included some close up photos.

Here's a few of my favourites!

To embellish these I used the new Painterly Petals from Prima, buttons and embroidery floss.

I used an oval label holder and put everyone's name on the ribbon "strap".

TIP: I used a small torch (a BBQ lighter will do) to heat the ends of the ribbon so it won't fray

Stampin' Up!'s Bella Rose designer paper is a beautiful package of 12 coordinated double sided patterned papers.

I accented the purse with photo corners cut from the scraps.

Here's a better side view so you can see the gusset part - well kind of....

I'll put some chocolate treats inside each one.

I really struggled with putting their names on the purses. I thought about using "for you" so that they could trade or even regift them (I'm all for regifting!). But in the end I went with the names to make it more personal.

What do you do when you give someone something handmade - put their name on it or make it generic so that they can pass it on?
